FPH postgraduate training


Following the revision of the law on university medical professions (LPMéd), pharmacists are now required to hold the postgraduate qualification of Pharmacist Specialising in Dispensing Pharmacy in order to be able to practise pharmacy under their own professional liability.

The Pharmacy Disciplinary Society (FPH Officine) saw this new requirement as an opportunity to revise postgraduate training in order to prepare pharmacists for their new role as healthcare providers.

Swiss federal postgraduate training in dispensing pharmacy involves both theoretical and practical postgraduate training carried out in a dispensary.

  • All qualified pharmacists in Switzerland and abroad.

  • To obtain the title of Specialist Pharmacist in Dispensing Pharmacy

  • 2 to 5 years

  • 80%-100% (to complete the 2-year course)

  • 5,000 FPH points (through courses, e-learning, practical work or self-study), followed by an examination.

  • Approximately CHF 20,000 (unless you join BENU)

We support our pharmacists at every stage of their FPH postgraduate training, from the moment they arrive at BENU until they day they obtain their FPH postgraduate diploma.

At BENU, pharmacists are free to build their own FPH postgraduate training plan by studying those areas that interest them in preparation for the exam.

Our training manager will guide them through the development of their training plan. We also offer internal training courses, free of charge for our employees, which are accredited by pharmaSuisse and can be used to earn FPH points.

The ALL INCLUSIVE formula is guaranteed for BENU pharmacists who embark on FPH postgraduate training – we pay all the costs associated with this training, as we firmly believe in the importance of supporting the next generation of pharmacists.
